Certainly, Menaggio is their deserving representative. This small town is an important touristic center located in the most picturesque district of lake Como, site of confluence with lake Lugano thanks to the Valsolda valley that connects Porlezza to Menaggio.
This small town consists of the center and three districts: Loveno, Nobiallo and Croce. It has an ancient origin, that proves important artistic heritage, both in his historical center and in outskirts that could be investigated through interesting routes. The most essential monument of architecture is the Roman tombstone of Minicio Exorato and remains of walls that surrounded a medieval castle. The embankment of Menaggio is undoubtedly, one of the most elegant of all coast of lake Como. Its hills fully saved the spirit of middle ages with picturesque streets and houses, leaning against to each other.
District Nobiallo, which has a wonderful bell tower of the thirteenth century, crosses the ancient Roman road Regina, which once connected Como with Alpine routes. Well-off families loved to spend time in a sunny Loveno district, reach of prestigious villas, among them the first place is worthy, Villa Mylius Vigoni.

The Croce district center, could be proud of its typical Italian square. Up to panoramic area Crocetta you can find the remains of line Cadorna trenches.
