Villa Taverna in Torno

Anyone who loves English-style parks will fall in love with Villa Taverna. Built in a panoramic location by Count Paolo Taverna in the late 1700s, this villa hosted Francesco Melzi d’Eril during the construction of his own nearby Villa Melzi. Later in the 1800s, it became the property of the Poldi Pezzoli family. A strong aristocratic tradition is reflected in its neoclassic styled rooms; the villa is composed of a central body, flanked by two wings extending into a four-hectare English-style garden.
This spectacular park features spontaneous vegetation, including a wide variety of botanical species. Villa Taverna – located in Torno, between the Loppia inlet and the village of San Giovanni – is just a few minutes’ drive away from the city of Como.
